Nadi International Airport is located on the main island, Viti Levu and has a domestic terminal for ease of transfers to the outlying islands. On the east side of the main island, Nausori International Airport is 30 minutes from Suva, the capital and business hub of Fiji. The national carrier, Air Pacific’s domesic airline Pacific Sun has several daily flights to Taveuni from Nadi and Suva and ferries sail to Taveuni from Suva and Savusavu 6 days a week. Annual Temperature / Rainfall

May-November are Fiji’s ‘cooler’ and drier months making it ideal time to visit. December – April there is a higher rainfall recorded and is the season for cyclones.

Currency Exchange

The currency is Fiji dollars (FJD) and banks and currency exchange counters will accept foreign currency and travelers checks.

Dress Code

Light and comfortable clothing is recommended throughout Fiji. Please do respect the customs and traditions of the Fijian people and avoid inappropriate clothing outside resort areas.

Medical Treatment

The main surgical hospitals are in Nadi and Suva and if in the unfortunate event of emergency on outlying islands, patients will be flown out as soon as possible. On Taveuni, there is a well-equipped hospital situated at the top of the hill in Waiyevo. If you require medication, please bring sufficient supply with you and contact our resort manager for any medical concerns.

Power Supplies & Electricity

Plug adapters and voltage converters to suit 110v appliances. Although electricity supplies can be unreliable across Fiji islands, our resort has a 24-hour generator so we have a constant running supply of power.

TAX (Value Added Tax & HTT)

There is a 15% government VAT and 5% HTT tax that applies to most services and products. Prices are quoted in Fiji dollars.

Tipping

This is not customary in Fiji, but if you find you have received exceptional service, take 10% as a rule of thumb.
